Homemade gifts always show a lot of thought and can sometimes be a lot nicer than anything you buy at the store. What’s more a homemade Valentine card will allow you to add special touches to your card. This can be anything from a special message inside the card to a favorite photograph.

Chinese Character
Chinese characters can look very elegant and stylish. Look for the Chinese character that means love on the Internet. If possible find one that says love in English underneath it. Use card stock in your favorite colors, stick to simple bold colors. Champagne and silver might be good colors to use. Fold one of the pieces of card stock in half to make your card.
Then place a strip of your other card choice that is one third the size of the front of the card in the middle. Glue it into place. Cut a square that is a little bigger than your Chinese character from card stock that is the same color as the card and mount it in the middle of the strip. Glue the Chinese character over this square. This is a very attractive homemade Valentine card you can make in minutes.
Old Fashioned
If you would like to make a more traditional homemade Valentine card then a Be Mine homemade Valentine card will be perfect. First find a picture of a heart that you like, print it out. You should also print out the words ‘Be Mine’ in font you like. Fold some white card stock in half for the card.
Cut the heart out so that you have a square with the heart on it. Do the same for the words but you want a rectangle. You should also have some printed vellum that matches the heart and words. It should be the same size as the front of your card. Fold it in half; now glue it in place so that it wraps around half of the front and back of the card at the fold.
Glue the heart and saying to separate pieces of red card stock that are slightly bigger than both pieces. Glue the heart in the center of the card, the words should be glued at the bottom to the right. Add other decorative touches such as beads or buttons.
