It’s that time of year again – the time when you’re expected to buy the right candy for valentines day. Some years you’ve messed up and ended up with the squished box, the “okay” kind, or – worse yet – having to think of some other idea than candy. How can you make the right choices when buying valentines candy? Here are some important things to know.
Buy Early!
As soon as the stores begin stocking valentines candy, you need to be getting ready to buy some. Why do you need to buy early?
Buying early ensures a great selection to choose from. Do you want three kinds to choose from, or twenty-five? The earlier in the season you shop, the more choices you’ll have. Stores don’t buy a lot of extras of seasonal items, and the goal is to sell out. If you really want a certain type of valentines candy, you’ll have to check the stores early.
Buying early means you won’t have to fight the crowds. The last day (the 13th) and the day of (14th), there will be crowds. Do you really want to fight the crowds to get a banged up, damaged, box of sub-par chocolates?
Check Sales!
As soon as the stores have product for valentines day, the candy will be on sale. Don’t throw away the sales fliers from the stores near you!
If you know what valentines candy you want, compare the sales fliers from several stores. Chances are, one of them will have a bit better of a price than the others – that’s the store you want to visit.
If you don’t know what you want, looking at the sales fliers will give you an idea of what’s available. Every year, there are cute new products to catch your interest and the interest of the one you love.
Know Quality!
There are some kinds of valentines candy that is good. There are other types are waxy and not nearly as delicious as they look. Do you want to buy the good kind – the kind people will actually eat? Probably. Then be prepared to spend a little more. Know the brands of candy – valentines chocolates, particularly – that taste the best.
Ask Ahead!
Does the person you’re buying valentines candy for have a preference? Ask ahead of time so that you can sneakily end up buying just the kind he or she wanted. They’ll be so surprised that you knew what kind they wanted – and all it takes is sneakily asking ahead of time.
